  • Mr and Mrs – invent a bunch of elusive questions about the groom to be and ask them to the hen – the butler could even share his thoughts on particular funny subjects.
  • How well do you know the Hen? Why not organise a quiz to see who knows the most, and ask your very helpful butler to be the Quizmaster?

Keeping the Hen Party Organised!

Most Brides-to-Be and Maid of Honours will tell you planning a Hen Party can be a daunting task! We believe planning the Hen Party should be an enjoyable experience, and it shouldn’t be the cause of panic attacks! Spicy Hen have put together a simple guide to keeping everything, and everyone organised.

planning
Facebook
– Lets face it, most people are on Facebook these days, your mates, your exes, your Mum and even your Gran is getting in on the action! Use Facebook to your advantage, you can set up a private group for you and the other guests to keep them up to date, ask for ideas and input, and to generally keep in contact with everyone. Create an Event so all the guests can see the dates/times and any other info they need to know.

Lists, Lists, Lists
– They will be your new best friend. Not everyone is an expert list maker, so make it fun! Treat yourself to a brand new moleskin notebook, and a pack of highlighters and make some lists! Write down everything that needs to be sorted out, with a deadline date next to it.

Make a decision and stick to it – When trying to organise a big group of people, it’s a given that everyone won’t be into doing the same thing. Try and find the balance. Organise a slap up meal at a restaurant that will cater to everyones tastes (and diets), then book in a VIP table at a club, everyone who doesn’t fancy partying has still enjoyed the meal & spent time with the Hen!

Keep Calm and Carry On – Just breathe. Remember your planning an exciting night for your best friend, it’s all about having fun. Don’t get bogged down with the little things, if one guests arrives at the wrong club, or is an hour late, don’t worry!

MR & MRS Game

A hen night is not complete without a few hen party games! Its all about the bride-to-be so why not play the Mr and Mrs game? Its simple, funny and can reveal hilarious secrets that will leave you laughing for ages!

games

All you need to do is create a list of questions about the groom, bride and ones about both of them. You will need to ask the groom the questions before the hen party and note down his answers. Then compare them to the ones that the bride-to-be gives at the hen party! If the bride-to-be gets any of the answers wrong you could give her a forfeit! Here are a few examples of questions to get you started:

About the Groom:

What is your favourite band?
If the bride-to-be could get rid of one item in your wardrobe what would it be?
Where were you born?
Whats the most embarrassing thing you have ever done?

About the Bride:

Which celebrity does she like?
Whats the most embarrassing thing she has ever done?
What is her worst habit?

About both of them:

Where did you meet?
What was the first film you went to see together?
Who is likely to be the most hungover guest after your wedding?

spa

Tip 1. Home Made Spa Treatment

Every girl loves a bit of pampering and no more than a group of hens, in preparation for a night out on the town. However, the cost of these spa retreats can become very expensive when you add the travel costs, accommodation with the cost of the other activities you have planned.

What a bride wants, a bride gets, so pampering it is, in the comfort of your own home.

This is a great way for everyone to use up all the gifts they were given at Christmas and Birthdays.

For extra effect, add gentle calming music and scented candles

TIP 2. DECORATIONS

- Candles always set the mood and add the fairytale, romantic edge to the night or combined with other décor can add a twist of cheekiness. Candles can be scattered anywhere around the room or on the table.

- Fairy lights are another option, as they are very simple, yet add such an effect and can be bought in different colours and shapes (heart shapes, flowers, or something a little bit more adult), transforming even the blandest room to light up (excuse the pun).

- Balloons make a party feel like an occasion, you have choice of colours to match any theme.

Tip 3. Accessories

You can make your cocktails a feature of the night, by putting down an old but clean colourful pashmina as your table cloth, with a few bottle of bubbly and hey presto you have your own cocktail bar in the room.

There are loads of reasonably prices naughty shaped cocktail stirrers you can purchase. Indoor sparklers always add that special touch to a cake

Cupcakes are really cheap and easy to make, even for the less natural bakers. Best thing is if they do not turn out looking perfect, the plan is cover the top with pin or red icing. It is always a good idea to have something to nibble on whilst you drink, to ensure no light weights get left behind.
